FLOW 93.5 is working for peace in the T-Dot. In response to the
unfortunate recent increase in violence on the streets of Toronto,
FLOW 93.5 is concerned about what is taking place in our city, and
wants to play a role in helping to address some of the issues that
are affecting youth.
In March 2004, FLOW 93.5 formed Peace Prophets, a collective
of concerned members of Toronto's urban music community that has
come together to promote a positive, non-violent lifestyle.
FLOW 93.5 has always believed that music is a powerful tool and
that the message in music can change people's lives. The Peace
Prophets lead single, Drop the Chrome, has a strong anti-violence
message delivered by some of Canada's hottest and most respected
urban artists.
The Peace Prophets campaign is an UrbanFLOWcase initiative.
Through UrbanFLOWcase, FLOW 93.5's commitment to Canadian Talent
Development, resources have been made available for the production
and manufacturing of the Drop the Chrome single. Sales of the single
will be encouraged through radio air play and announcements by FLOW
93.5 personalities.
All of the proceeds from the sale of this CD will go towards two
Toronto-based charities that focus on youth development and mentoring:
Tropicana Youth Services and Youth Assisting Youth.
The initiative is endorsed by the City of Toronto. Mayor David
Millers states, "It's exciting to see some of Canada's top Hip Hop
and R&B artists coming together to spread a message of unity, hope
and social responsibility. I thank the members of the Peace Prophets
collective for their foresight and initiative in launching this
campaign."

Drop the Chrome was written and produced by Marcus Kane,
and features a collective of Toronto's top urban artists. The lead
performers will share publishing rights on the song. All participants
in the collective will donate their artist royalties to the project.
The Drop the Chrome single will be manufactured and distributed
to selected locations across Toronto and area. The single will be
sold for $2 each, and all proceeds will be split 50/50 between Youth
Assisting Youth and Tropicana Youth Services.
The Benefits:
The Peace Prophets campaign will have tangible benefits,
as the results will show through the amount of money we are able
to contribute to charity.
